About Gemini

The Twins. Castor and Pollux are the heads of the twins. Pollux is the closest giant star to Earth at 34 light-years. Castor is actually a system of six stars. The Geminid meteor shower peaks around December 14, one of the best annual showers. The twins were patrons of sailors and appeared together as St. Elmos fire on ship masts. NASA named its Gemini program after this constellation.
