About Little Dipper
Seven stars of Ursa Minor forming a smaller dipper with Polaris at the end of the handle. Finding the whole figure takes dark skies, as four of its stars are quite faint. Polaris sits almost exactly at the north celestial pole, so the pattern appears to pivot around it through the night. Kochab and Pherkad, the Guardians of the Pole, guard the bowl.
