About Lyra
The Lyre. Anchored by Vega, the fifth brightest star in the night sky. Vega was the pole star around 12,000 BC and will be again around 13,700 AD. The Ring Nebula M57 is a planetary nebula showing the fate of our Sun in about 5 billion years. Vega will be the standard star for calibrating astronomical photometry. Part of the Summer Triangle with Deneb and Altair.
