About Northern Cross
The main stars of Cygnus the Swan read as a bold cross. Deneb marks the head, Sadr the intersection, and Albireo, a famous gold and blue double star, the foot. The cross lies along a bright band of the Milky Way split by the Great Rift. Standing upright on the northwestern horizon in late autumn evenings, it guides the eye through the summer and fall sky.
