Sagitta
About Sagitta
The Arrow. The third smallest constellation. Despite its tiny size, it was known to the ancient Greeks and is one of the 48 original Ptolemaic constellations. Sagitta lies between Cygnus and Aquila. Gamma Sagittae is the brightest star, an orange giant 274 light-years away. Contains the Necklace Nebula, a recently discovered planetary nebula. Can be seen with the naked eye under dark skies as a tiny line of stars.
