Winter Hexagon
About Winter Hexagon
A vast six sided figure enclosing much of the winter sky, drawn from Rigel, Aldebaran, Capella, Pollux, Procyon, and Sirius. Six constellations contribute one bright star each, and Betelgeuse shines inside the figure without belonging to it. Spanning some 65 degrees, it is far too large for binoculars yet obvious to the naked eye on clear winter nights. A fine starting point for learning the winter constellations.
