Caelum
About Caelum
The Chisel, or engraving tool. Introduced by Lacaille in the 1750s, one of several constellations he named after tools of art and science. The eighth smallest constellation in the sky. Very faint, with no star brighter than about fourth magnitude. Lies between Columba and Eridanus. Contains few objects of note for amateur observers, but its sky region holds many distant galaxies.
