About Dorado

The Swordfish, though the name actually refers to the dolphinfish or mahi-mahi. Created by Plancius from Keyser and de Houtman observations. Contains most of the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. The Tarantula Nebula is the most active star-forming region in the Local Group. Supernova 1987A, the closest supernova seen since 1604, appeared here. The south ecliptic pole lies in Dorado.
