About Fornax
The Furnace. Introduced by Lacaille as the chemical furnace. Contains the Fornax Cluster, one of the closest galaxy clusters to the Milky Way, which includes the giant radio galaxy NGC 1316, also called Fornax A. The Fornax Dwarf is a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way with its own globular clusters. The Hubble Ultra Deep Field, one of the deepest images of the universe ever taken, was aimed at Fornax.
