Norma
About Norma
The Carpenters Square. Introduced by Lacaille in the 1750s. Lies in the Milky Way between Lupus and Ara. Some of its original stars were later reassigned to neighboring constellations, so it has no star labeled Alpha or Beta. The Norma Arm of the Milky Way is named after it. The Norma Cluster of galaxies lies near the center of the Great Attractor, a huge mass concentration pulling on nearby galaxies.
