About Puppis
The Stern of the ship Argo. Puppis was once part of the huge constellation Argo Navis, which Lacaille divided into Carina, Puppis, and Vela. Puppis is the largest of the three. Zeta Puppis, or Naos, is one of the hottest and most luminous stars visible to the naked eye. The Milky Way runs through it, and it contains the open clusters M46, M47, and M93.
