About Pyxis
The Mariners Compass. Introduced by Lacaille in the 1750s, lying near the old ship Argo Navis but never actually part of it. A small, faint line of stars. T Pyxidis is a recurrent nova, a white dwarf that has erupted several times as it pulls material from a companion star. Its eruptions were recorded in 1890, 1902, 1920, 1944, 1966, and 2011.
