About Reticulum

The Reticle. Introduced by Lacaille to honor the crosshair reticle in the eyepiece of his telescope, which he used to measure star positions. One of the smallest constellations, a compact diamond of stars near the Large Magellanic Cloud. Zeta Reticuli is a wide pair of Sun-like stars visible to the naked eye from dark sites. It became famous through the Betty and Barney Hill UFO story of the 1960s.
