The Sails of the ship Argo. Contains the Vela Pulsar, a neutron star rotating 11 times per second, the brightest persistent source of gamma rays in the sky. The Vela Supernova Remnant is the expanding cloud from a star that exploded about 11,000 years ago. The Eight-Burst Nebula NGC 3132 is a planetary nebula resembling a figure eight. Gamma Velorum is a quadruple star system with Wolf-Rayet components.
